Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

The "Fountain Flats" stretch of the Firehole was fishable in the morning after an uncharacteristically cold August night. From the Firehole River in Wyoming

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.
