Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Louis...Wouldn't it be fun to follow Tim and Paul around on a stream somewhere?

Well, I enjoyed the video, and the two guys comments about the family history on the river. Good job guys, I loved it.

Very late to this post, due to unforeseen circumstances. But I would like to applaud you guys for nailing the guy who was advertising. I see so much of flyfishing degenerating into marketing. If I see another

Hi All, I am really starting to get into fly fishing and have parents that live on Burt Lake. I used to fish with a micro lite and artificial tackle but have always been interested in fly fishing.... I recently dove into and have gotten some practice in on some other type 4 rivers and am doing some research on the area surrounding Burt Lake. I have fished the sturgeon river before and had luck, but I fear it's to fast for me to fly fish on right now.... Can anybody give me some tips on fly's for the black river, best time frame to fish it, etc... I know it's a type 1 stream, just starting to plan around some spring fishing opportunities I might have. Thanks for any advice!!

I usually start w the basic standard flies on the Black, really any stream. Blue wing olives, caddis, Adams parachute for dries. Presentation, presentation, presentation.

I enjoy swinging some soft hackles too.

That is a great area to go after trout.
