With a bit of help from the microscope, this specimen keys clearly and unsurprisingly to Hydropsyche.
27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Iam 46 yrs young.I live in Northern Indiana with my wife and 3 sons. I have flyfished a long time , since i was 17. I have been flyfishing for trout about 5yrs.I love flyfishing for smallies also. The last 2yrs i have started flytying,its so great catching fish on something you tied yourself.
