Blue-winged Olives
Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

This dun emerged from a mature nymph on my desk. Unfortunately its wings didn't perfectly dry out.
27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

The second picture in the series with Slope Mtn and the Pipeline in the background is actually Oksrukuyik Creek, not the Kuparuk River.

Thanks, you're right. I moved it into a new section for Oksrukuyik Creek.

I drive quite a bit between Prudhoe and Pump Station 4. I fish quite a bit between Pumps 3 & 4 and fished that stretch of the Oksukuyik a few times.
