Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

I am pretty sure this is a March Brown female but wanted to post here to confirm. I caught one with the egg sac hanging out a few minutes before, and then pulled in two mating pairs where the female had this red belly full of eggs. Pretty excited about it! Thanks!
