The famous nocturnal Hex hatch of the Midwest (and a few other lucky locations) stirs to the surface mythically large brown trout that only touch streamers for the rest of the year.
I've successfully patched bigger holes over the years with a strip of wader-similar material (from an old pair of waders or some such) overlapping the tear by a half-inch or so in all dimensions.--RleeP
