This one pretty clearly keys to Kogotus, but it also looks fairly different from specimens I caught in the same creek about a month later in the year. With only one species of the genus known in Washington, I'm not sure about the answer to this ID.
Fly fishing was cooler before it became mainstream. It's still wonderful, though. It used to have an "offbeat" mystique, not unlike falconry. Now it's considered a growth industry. On the other hand, it's popularity helps preserve and enhance the waters. The habitat is valued by more "watchdogs."
