Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.
This is the first of it's family I've seen, collected from a tiny, fishless stream in the Cascades. The three species of this genus all live in the Northwest and are predators that primarily eat stonefly nymphs Merritt R.W., Cummins, K.W., and Berg, M.B. (2019).

My first update as steward of Mayfly Central is now online. In addition to the usual emendations associated with new species, new synonyms and new distribution data, I corrected a longtime misuse of parentheses involved with generic recombinations. This was tedious, so mistakes are likely. Please check for errors or omissions, particularly on the species list pages, and let me know by email or PM.
That's really great, Luke. Makes me proud to know ya. :-) Will PM you if I should catch something while incorporating your Mayfly Central updates into screens on my website.
