Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Casting for Recovery is a great organization most of you probably already know about and I know some of you volunteer for. They use flyfishing as both emotional and physical therapy for breast cancer survivors. They are currently making a drive during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to win the Pepsi Refresh Everything contest for October. They are biting off a lot, attempting to win the top prize ($250 K). They have hovered in the teens in previous months, and this month find themselves at #5. Please consider supporting them in this effort. To vote for them, use the following link:

You may vote from any IP address once per day. I just keep the link open in my tabs and vote for them every day.

Well, undoubtedly on the shoulders of the huge contributions to the voting by Troutnuts, CFR has now moved into 4th place after having slipped to 6th. They need to finish in the top two to get the cash. Please, to quote Al Capone, vote early and often.

CFR ended up 7th in October - a disappointing finish considering they climbed as high as 4th late in the month. Please help them do better in November. They're steadily climbing, partnering with other organizations to increase voting. They have to reach #1 or #2 in any month to win the cash. As other top vote-getters win their cash, it makes it all that much easier for CFR to try to climb higher the next month. So keep the votes coming. Again, you can vote once per day from each IP address you use. Jason's made a very easy link to use at the top of the thread.

Thanks again for your help.
