Salmonflies
Pteronarcys californica

The giant Salmonflies of the Western mountains are legendary for their proclivity to elicit consistent dry-fly action and ferocious strikes.

Some characteristics from the microscope images for the tentative species id: The postero-lateral projections are found only on segment 9, not segment 8. Based on the key in Jacobus et al. (2014), it appears to key to Neoleptophlebia adoptiva or Neoleptophlebia heteronea, same as this specimen with pretty different abdominal markings. However, distinguishing between those calls for comparing the lengths of the second and third segment of the labial palp, and this one (like the other one) only seems to have two segments. So I'm stuck on them both. It's likely that the fact that they're immature nymphs stymies identification in some important way.
27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

I have been more of a lurker here than a poster. I have decided to sell my boat and thought someone here might be able to get some great usage out of it. I have fly fished 2 people easily out of it while drifting rivers, and it is the exact boat that many of the guides on the White and other rivers use to guide out of. This is a top of the line Supreme Boats fiberglass fishing boat. They have 3 grades of trailer to choose from and this is the top grade trailer too. It’s also the largest model they make, the L60. Here’s the link to their home page. http://www.supremeboats.com/ At 20 feet long and 5 feet wide, 71.5"beam, 678lbs (with out trailer), 20"sides and a 2ft draft Other features are a 30” front deck, 28” rear deck, a pair of 42” livewells, built in pedestal base and rubber rub rail, this boat will fish 2-3 fly fisherman or 6 spinner fisherman men easily. Bought new in 2006 just the boat and trailer were over $9000, added to that the 25hp Mercury and 55lb thrust (boat is light and the trolling motor works very well) trolling motor were another $3000. It has been used very few times and is in virtually brand new condition. It is a very light weight boat and could easily be pulled by car, van or SUV. I can pick up the tongue by myself and roll it around if need be. Many of the guides on the White River in Arkansas use these boats due to their stability and ease of use with clients. It’s also an excellent family fishing boat that is really just like new, it has plenty of room and is very stable. All of the used Supreme L60’s I have found for sale were over $9000. I have priced this one to sell fast at $7490. Feel free to contact me directly on my cell at 512 619 9815 with any other questions. Right now the boat is in central Missouri and I will deliver within 500miles of here. I have to make a trip up to the Indiana/Michigan border and I can deliver the boat along that rout or within a few hundred miles. Thank you.

You can edit that and change IMG to img (lower-case) and it should work. Sorry, it's a bug I haven't fixed yet.
