Blue-winged Olives
Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

With a bit of help from the microscope, this specimen keys clearly and unsurprisingly to Hydropsyche.
27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Try again to post the picture...I am eager to see what it looks like. Knapp creek is not far from me down here in Dunn County...I may have to come up and search for my own huge Brown.

Actually, I just realized that I will be camping at Interstate Park next weekend and that is close to you (I think). Could you point me to any trout fishing areas within 20 minutes or so of the park??? Or, do you know if the St. Croix or Dulles creek (in Interstate Park) have any trout fishing? Thanks.

I always do it through the photography message board. It has an upload file box there that you can use and then a spot to put your message.

I posted a reply in another forum asking about trout in the St. Croix. It has many tributaries that carry brookies, so I assume there must be a few, but does anyone wish to share any info?
