Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.
Troutnut is a project started in 2003 by salmonid ecologist Jason "Troutnut" Neuswanger to help anglers and fly tyers unabashedly embrace the entomological side of the sport. Learn more about Troutnut or support the project for an enhanced experience here.

I was in FFP a few times this past summer. Each time I felt I was treated well enough. The first time I had to ask someone for help. This isn't such a bad thing, IMO. I really dislike someone hovering over me; giving the impression of surveilling. They were very forthcoming with any info I asked for. All in all I felt satisfied with the service and personal there. What they said, or didn't say, about me after I left is anyone's guess. Though I don't stress over such things.

to these guys defense i have been a customer for a few years now, they are probably the most knowledgeable fisherman you will find anywhere. I have spent countless hours in the shop and they have treated me very well and after hearing guys arguing against advice they are given even after asking and after hearing some of the most stupid questions ever it's no wonder they would get pissed off. Afterall, you don't ask for advice and then argue against it.
