Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

This species was fairly abundant in a February sample of the upper Yakima.
27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Always differing views, even on the basics....I get it, I think.

Who votes for a smooth bodied emerger, and who votes for a fuzzy one.

Or, would you rib an emerger with the dull side of a goose biot or the shiny side?

Thanks

Byron, I always like to do the smooth body, but I think it's more for me than the fish.
