The famous nocturnal Hex hatch of the Midwest (and a few other lucky locations) stirs to the surface mythically large brown trout that only touch streamers for the rest of the year.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

just started fly fishing this year (2012) I've built my own rod and tied many of my own flies. me and my buddy rocky got into fly fishing together and were hoping to get out and catch some great trout this year.
