Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

Then again, that's only for the moving picture. It's a rule of coincidence that if you take lots of still pictures of a new fly caster he'll look like a pro in a few of them, and a complete doofus in others. I'm curious which, if anything, will filter through.
I’m sure the NY TIMES will paint him as a pro, and I’m sure Glenn Beck will paint him as a doofus.
As for the political significance of fly fishing, let's not forget that even Darth...er, Dick Cheney is a "fly fisherman."
Obama will be picking out the knots and tangles for years to come.

A good “fly fisherman” knows that trying to pick out knots and tangles, often times, only adds to the mess and is a waste of good fishing time. There are times when simply severing the leader and starting from scratch is the best option.
