Hex Mayflies
Hexagenia limbata

The famous nocturnal Hex hatch of the Midwest (and a few other lucky locations) stirs to the surface mythically large brown trout that only touch streamers for the rest of the year.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Biography & Thoughts
I have not fly fished in more than 20 yrs and even then I was not successful. I have some new family members that are avid fly fisherman and I am looking to go out with them, I Just want to be a part of the pack Just kidding, any excuse to spend time outside, and I don't mean doing yard work. Probably looking at river/lake trout to start. Hoping I enjoy it once I get setup and start doing it, just can't see how I wouldn't. Anyway, already learned a bunch from some very helpful people on this site and who knows, perhaps one day I can pass some knowledge on to others.
