Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

I found a dead hopper and I tied this fly. It's actual size and I matched the color as best I could.I tried finding him in my reference books but they are limited and considering the ammount of species we have here this time of year I'll just say he's a hopper. Besides the fish wont ask what genus he is.
