Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.
Identification notes from the microscope: Gills on segment 1 extend anteriorly below the body, but not all the way to touching; posterolateral spines minor; femora without fuscous macula.
This mayfly was collected from Green Lake Outlet in Idaho on August 4th, 2020 and added to Troutnut.com by Troutnut on August 20th, 2020.
