Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

Mayfly Species Leucrocuta aphrodite (Pale Evening Dun)

This is one of the few Eastern species of the Heptagenia complex to produce fishable hatches.

Where & when

Time of year : Early May to early June

These hatches are sporadic.
