Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.
This Baetisca obesa dun hatched out in my aquarium from nymphs collected a couple weeks earlier.
This mayfly was collected from the Neversink River (aquarium-raised) in New York on May 23rd, 2007 and added to Troutnut.com by Troutnut on June 4th, 2007.
