This Skwala nymph still has a couple months left to go before hatching, but it's still a good representative of its species, which was extremely abundant in my sample for a stonefly of this size. It's obvious why the Yakima is known for its Skwala hatch.

Biography & Thoughts

Retired. Started fly fishing 3 years ago. Have 5 wgt and 8 wgt rods. Mostly fish ponds around Noblesville, Carmel and Indianapolis, Indiana. Usually catching crappie and blue gill and an unlucky bass. Always catch and release.
