Baetis

Tiny Baetis mayflies are perhaps the most commonly encountered and imitated by anglers on all American trout streams due to their great abundance, widespread distribution, and trout-friendly emergence habits.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

Biography & Thoughts
I am a 48 yr old, married father of four. I grew up near Onieda lake in central New York. I have fished my whole life. I took up fly fishing 2yrs ago and have fallen in love with it. A lot of practice has paid off for me as I have been quite successful since starting. I have fishing buddies who haven't shown interest in wanting to learn something new, therefore I am joining the forum so I can hopefully be able to share experiences with others who have the same passion for the fly.
