The famous nocturnal Hex hatch of the Midwest (and a few other lucky locations) stirs to the surface mythically large brown trout that only touch streamers for the rest of the year.

27" brown trout, my largest ever. It was the sub-dominant fish in its pool. After this, I hooked the bigger one, but I couldn't land it.

21yrs old, worked at Gander Mountain in Pittsburgh. Staarted the art of fly fishing at the age of 10 and have been loving it ever since. Have fished the Beaverkill and Willowemoc in the Catskills and waters in Central PA. My "home" waters are Driftwood branch, First Fork, Kettle Creek and Hammersley Fork.
