This species can be important in the southern Appalachian states. LaFontaine lists it as only existing in the East in Caddisflies but Swisher and Richards list it from the East, Midwest, and West in Selective Trout, probably reflecting more recent discoveries.In 54 records from GBIF, adults of this species have mostly been collected during June (43%), July (28%), May (20%), and August (6%).
In 39 records from GBIF, this species has been collected at elevations ranging from 3 to 5167 ft, with an average (median) of 1751 ft.
