The famous nocturnal Hex hatch of the Midwest (and a few other lucky locations) stirs to the surface mythically large brown trout that only touch streamers for the rest of the year.
This Baetid nymph has no tracheation on its gills, no distinct bands on its tails, and a rounded, oval 7th gill. Abdominal segments 5, 9, and 10 are pale.
